Laura Vandervoort

n 1997, she made her acting debut at age 13. Following a series of classes and doing background work for Canadian shows like Road to Avonlea and Harriet the Spy, she got her first part in a spoken role the Canadian children's horror series Goosebumps and Are you afraid of the Dark?, both series were broadcast on YTV. Following commercials, she had guest starring roles on Mutant X, Prom Queen: The Marc Hall Story, Goosebumps, Twice in a Lifetime, Doc, Sue Thomas: F.B.Eye, Troubled Waters, The Dresden Files, along with a handful of Disney Channel Original films (Mom's Had A Date with a Vampire and Alley Cats Strike), aged 19, studying at York University [12] which she studied Psychology and English. She landed a lead role as Sadie Harrison in the CTV teens' drama Instant Star The show had a run of four seasons. Then, in 2006 Vandervoort was in her debut feature film called The Lookout alongside Jeff Daniels, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Matthew Goode along with Isla Fisher. Vandervoort's career in television began with CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. In the following season, she was cast in the part of Clark Kent's Kryptonian cousin "Kara Kent", (the woman who was later to become Supergirl) and appeared in The CW serial-drama Smallville. The episodes she appeared in were season seven and eight of the show were in the form of a regular on the season, "Bloodline". She was back on Smallville to appear in two episodes throughout the last season and was also her 10th season. [4] Following The CW and Smallville, Vandervoort then shot the sequel to feature film Into the Blue titled Into the Blue 2: The Reef. The Jazzman was her next independent film.
